One of my favorite sports stars is swimmer Park Tae-hwan. He became a national hero after he won Korea’s first gold medal in swimming in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Park has also shown some impressive achievements in other international competitions as well. He has been nicknamed “Marine Boy” and “Korea’s Little Brother.” He is popular for his boyish good looks along with his outstanding swimming skills. Another sports star I really like is Kim Yuna, who is a female figure skating sensation in Korea. She was the first Korean figure skater ever to win a major figure skating championship. Aside from her adorable looks, I also love Kim Yuna for her character. Despite her athletic accomplishments, she hasn’t let success get to her head. She’s also modest and is very well-mannered. Both Park Tae-hwan and Kim Yuna have promising futures ahead of them. I think they are great role models for Korean youngsters.
