As I experienced a lot of culture shock

 

I’ve been on a few backpacking trips so far in my life.

When I was in college, my friend and I went backpacking in India and Nepal for three weeks.

We were on a shoestring budget and it wasn’t easy to live out of a bag all the time.

But we gained some invaluable experience through the trip.

Right after I graduated from college, I went on another backpacking trip to Southeast Asia.

We stopped by countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Although I heard a lot about those countries previous to the trip, it was totally different seeing them with my own eyes.

As I experienced a lot of culture shock, I became a more culturally-sensitive person.

I also felt more confident about myself.

I spent most of my savings from part-time jobs, but it was certainly money well spent.

I look forward to going on another backpacking in the future.
